By installing the Historification WordPress plugin or creating an account at historification.net, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
"The Service" comprises (a) the Historification WordPress plugin, distributed free under the GPLv2 licence, and (b) the hosted backend at historification.net, which provides AI generation, video assembly, social-network publishing, and asset hosting.
The backend service offers a Free tier and paid tiers (Starter, Pro). Paid tiers are billed monthly via Stripe, aligned to the calendar month. When you first upgrade from the Free tier, your paid plan starts immediately and Stripe charges a prorated amount for the remainder of the current month; you are then billed the full monthly price on the 1st of each month thereafter. Switching between paid tiers, and downgrades, take effect at the start of your next billing period (the 1st of the following month), not immediately. Usage limits per tier are documented at historification.net/#pricing and may change with 30 days' notice.
You retain full ownership of the articles, images, videos, and captions generated through the Service. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring that the content you publish (whether generated, edited, or supplied by you) complies with applicable law and the terms of service of every social network you publish to.
Content produced by AI may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or factual errors. The Service includes editorial controls at every stage and we strongly recommend reviewing all output before publication. You accept that you are the editor of record for everything published from your site.
Each social network has its own terms of service, automation policies, and rate limits. We make reasonable efforts to publish in a manner consistent with each network's policies, but we cannot guarantee that any individual post will be accepted or that your account will not be restricted by the network for reasons outside our control.
You agree not to use the Service to publish:
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that breach this clause.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. Scheduled maintenance and unexpected outages may occur. We are not liable for content that fails to publish on a given day as a result.
Each paid plan includes a monthly allowance of articles and of credits. Credits meter the AI work behind generative actions (for example generating an image carousel or a narrated video); every generative action consumes credits in proportion to its underlying AI cost. A single fully-produced article (article, carousel, and video) consumes roughly 155 credits.
Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month. Unused articles and credits do not roll over to the next month. When you reach a monthly limit, further generation of that type pauses until your allowance resets on the 1st of the following month, or until you upgrade — upgrading from the Free tier takes effect immediately, while switching between paid tiers takes effect on the 1st of the following month.
You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for; your plan remains active until then, and the plugin continues to work on the Free tier afterwards.
All payments are final and non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused allowances, downgrades, or periods where you did not use the Service. This applies whether you cancel, downgrade, or your account is suspended for a breach of these Terms.
If you cancel and later resubscribe, your subscription resumes for the new billing period, but your usage allowance is not reset early — you will not receive additional generation for a month in which your allowance has already been used.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including lost profits or business interruption.
The WordPress plugin is distributed under the GNU General Public License v2 (or later). Source code is available at github.com/thalesjacobi/historification-plugin. The hosted backend service is proprietary and not covered by the GPL.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active account holders at least 30 days before they take effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
